When ever i used to watch an e-bike(An Electric gear-less scooter actually) on road i always thought of possibility of having an actual bike with complete gear and acceleration system as that of original bike .
And now KTM an austrian firm the world's leader in sales of all-terrain motorbikes and Europe's second biggest motorbike constructor after Germany's BMW has said that it actually had produced a prototype of electric-powered all-terrain endurance bike which is very quiet and could develop up to 35 horsepower, weighed 90 kilos (200 pounds) and could run for 40 minutes before recharging. It was designed for off-road sporting use. It has a sales target of 95,000 machines for this year.

Chinese surfers fury over Microsoft @!#$%@#
Chinese Internet users have expressed fury at Microsoft's launch of an anti-piracy tool targeting computer users to ensure they buy genuine software.
The "Windows Genuine Advantage" program, which turns the user's screen black if the installed software fails a validation test, is Microsoft's latest weapon in its war on piracy in China, where the vast majority of 200 million computer users are believed to be using counterfeit software.
While most of the people argue that Microsoft should have violating people's rights by trespassing into their computer a few of the lawyers termed Microsoft as the biggest hacker in China with its intrusion into users' computer systems without their agreement or any judicial authority.

Wow a house that can walk !!
An ultimate solution to beat floods have been designed by art collective N55 in Copenhagen, Denmark, who worked in conjunction with engineers in Massachusetts, US.
Like normal homes, it comes equipped with a living room, kitchen, toilet, bed and wood stove.
But how can it walk?
The property has been built on six hydraulic legs which are powered by solar and wind powered and can stroll at walking pace across all terrains.
A mainframe computer present inside the house controls the house .
The prototype cost £30,000 to build, including materials and time, but the designers believe it could be constructed for a lot less.

Blackberry Storm coming this holiday season
Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM) which manufactures Blackberry's is all set to release touchscreen Blackberry Storm before this holiday season .
The Storm resembles the iPhone but its color touch-screen differs in that it is "clickable" -- the screen depresses slightly when touched like a typewriter key. This Storm's whole screen is backed by springs, and when pressed, it gives under the finger which ofcourse was the major drawback of the iPhone's Touchscreen , iPhone's glass screen was too much awkward to type on because its virtual buttons provide no tactile feedback .
This mobile ofcourse will be available only to Verizon Wireless subscribers in the U.S. and Vodafone subscribers in Europe, India, Australia and New Zealand.
No Price has been disclosed yet..

iPhone vs T-Mobile G1
While the T-Mobile's G1, the first mobile powered by Google's open-source Android(software) will be available in stores ( In United States) from October 22 people started comparing Apple's iPhone and G1..
The differences are --
1.The G1 has a QWERTY keyboard while the iPhone does'nt have one .
2.The G1 has a dedicated search button; the iPhone has barely any physical buttons.
3.The iPhone supports Microsoft Exchange server; the G1 does not.
4.The G1 is built on an open-source, Linux-based platform; the Apple iPhone has a applications development platform but Apple tightly controls what people can deliver through its App Store. Each phone has its own damn good features --
While the iPhone has some killer games and is the best phone music player on the planet till date T-Mobile's G1 has truly excellent Compass feature--> It uses Google Maps, the street-level photos which Google has been capturing for the past few years and the accelerometer to give you a virtual 360-degree view of an intersection, even if you're not there.
Coming to the similarities --
Both play music, offer touch-screen interfaces, include Wi-Fi, have their own WebKit-based browsers, have accelerometers, play in the broadband 3G service space.
Both can take multi-megapixel photos , but neither can capture video :)
It would have better if G1 could capture videos and the design of the phone was better(It is no competition to Apple's iPhone wrt its design) .

Ice-free North Pole !!
A leading ice scientist from USA has said that there are 50-50 chances this year to witness an ice-free North Pole.
The scientist said that the chances for a total meltdown at the pole are higher than ever because the layer of ice coating the sea is thinner than ever.
Pictures taken from a NASA satellite showed that the circle of ice surrounding the North Pole is "considerably getting thinner" than what scientists have seen during the five years !!
Scientists said , for the last couple of decades there has been a steady melt of Arctic sea ice — which covers only the ocean and which thins during summer and refreezes in winter. In recent years, it has gradually become thinner because more of it has been melting as the Earth's temperature rises.
Hope the situation doesn't get worse and make the polar ice a history..

Gates bids a teary adieu to Microsoft ..
Finally Gates bid a teary adieu to Microsoft . Gate's voice cracked when he mentioned Steve Ballmer , and all the "incredible people" at the company he founded, and you can hear the pride in his voice when he talked about how they changed the world. "You've made it so much fun for me, there won't be a day in my life that I'm not thinking about Microsoft and the great things it's doing. Thank you for making it the center of my life and so much fun."
Gates, who founded Microsoft at age 19, will now devote his time to philanthropic work.
Helping solve some of the world's health issues will now occupy Bill Gates's working hours as the IT icon retired from Microsoft on Friday. Two years ago Gates announced that he was leaving the software world to devote his time to the philanthropic organization he started with his wife in 2000. The group's work involves funding malaria and HIV research, among other causes. The task of running one of the most powerful companies now falls to CEO Steve Ballmer and chief software architect Ray Ozzie, among others. Gates will not completely exit Redmond, though.
He will continue serving as Microsoft chairman and dedicate one day a week to company business.

Play Tech prank with ur office buddies
Disappearing Desktop
A classic computer prank never goes out of style. The desktop image trick has been around for a bit, but rest assured: There are plenty of unsuspecting victims still to be found. Just head over to an unattended computer, minimize all the windows, and hit the Print Screen key. Paste the captured image into any graphic editing program — even Microsoft Paint will do — then save the file and set it as the desktop background. Then, all you have to do is hide the actual icons on the desktop — put them in a folder somewhere — and your victim will try endlessly to click the nonexistent icons, which are actually just part of the background image. For another variation, leave one program open when you capture the screen and watch as the person tries to click on it, type in it, and close it to no avail.
The Restart Remap
We start with one sure to throw off even the most advanced Windows user. Setup is simple and you need only a few seconds alone on someone’s computer. When you get a chance, sneak over and right-click your pal’s icon to Internet Explorer or some other commonly used program. Edit the properties and change the target to: “%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00″ Now, every time your buddy tries to run IE, his machine will mysteriously restart — and your laughter will instantly result.
The Wrath of Rotation
A simple but quick and always amusing prank is putting the screen rotation hotkeys to uses Microsoft never intended. Just run by a co-worker’s desk, reach over and hit Ctrl-Alt-up or down to rotate their monitor orientation. If you have some alone time, you can one-up it by also going into the Control Panel and setting their mouse to left-handed. They’ll spend 10 minutes with their head tilted sideways trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
Mousing Around
The laser mouse may have ended the era of mouse-ball stealing, but it opened up another option. Stick a few layered pieces of transparent tape on the bottom side of your friend’s mouse to really mess with its functionability.
A Pointer Pointer
Another great mouse prank awaits you in the Control Panel. Under the “Mouse” settings’ “Pointer” tab, change the default mouse pointer to the hourglass. Suddenly, the system is always busy working! What’s going on?
Mousing Around
Spend some more time in the “Mouse” settings and you’ll find more fun to be had. Try switching out a pal’s primary and secondary button functions for full confusion, or move the pointer speed to either extreme fast or extreme slow to give them some extreme frustration.

Microsoft Surface now in Las Vegas
Microsoft's touch-screen Surface computers have debuted in a Las Vegas casino bar giving Sin City partiers high-tech tools for flirting and concocting cocktails.
Harrah's Entertainment Inc. became the second business, behind telecom giant AT&T, to deploy Microsoft's computer technology which essentially turns table tops into touch-controlled computer displays.
Harrah's said it put six customized Surface computers in a bar at its Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
Harrah's crafted its own software for the machines and equipped them with cameras so people can send pick-lines, drinks or both to bar-goers they are interested in connecting with in real life.
People continue to be excited about the endless possibilities of Surface technology and how it can transform everyday scenarios, including the social and entertainment space.People can use the computers to play games, watch online videos, or take a virtual stroll along the renowned Las Vegas strip without leaving their seat at the "iBar," according to Harrah's.
This is the first time Surface computers, which Microsoft sells for approximately 10,000 dollars each, have been put to use in an entertainment venue. AT&T uses Surface in some of its retail stores.

Toyota fuel cell Car
Toyota Motors has said it finally has developed a new zero-emission fuel-cell vehicle that has a longer cruising distance than previous models and can operate in freezing temperatures.
Many companies have been working to create a viable zero-emission car running on fuel cells, which produce electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, leaving water as the only by-product.
Toyota engineers managed to control the amount of water produced inside the fuel-cell system, which previously interfered with electrical generation at low temperatures.

Robot conducted orchestra in Detroit
High tech met high art late Tuesday when a robot(ASIMO) conducted the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. It was the first time ever that an orchestra was handed over completely to a robot and the machine got rave reviews.
Both the audience and performers burst into applause after Honda's ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) robot led the symphony in a performance of "The Impossible Dream" ahead of a sold-out concert.
"It's exciting to see. The technology is mind boggling," said bass trombone player Randall Hawes, who has played with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for 22 years.
The symphony extended the invitation to ASIMO earlier this year after Honda donated one million dollars to establish The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund, which will support music education to underserved children around Detroit.
Honda has 25 ASIMO-type robots serving as ambassadors around the world and hopes to one day use the robots to help people confined to wheelchairs.

Social Networking sites now allow to share space..
Social Networking sites MySpace and Facebook which have been highly protective for its users till now have loosened their grip
These sites have made it easier for people to share their personal information (favorite pictures, information and other applications) with other web-sites on the Internet.
Both Facebook and MySpace say several weeks remain before their users' data becomes portable. The transition poses a risk for Facebook and MySpace because they are effectively tearing down the barriers that sequestered the personal profiles on their sites.
Myspace has also become so liberal that it is even ready to exchange information with its arch-rival Facebook. Experts believe that this move by Myspace gives more oppurtunity for the people to join.

IBM's Race Track
Racetrack
In racetrack memory, the bits - 1s and 0s - of data are stored in the tiny magnetic domains of a very thin U-shaped wire. They apply a magnetic field for writing data to the domains. Later, the pulsing current is passed through the wire, which pushes those domains along the track, along sensors that can read off the data.
Well well what do we have to say about it !!

Hyderabad Heros win ICL 20-20
***Champions Of ICL ***
Hyderabad Heros win even the second final of the ICL (Indian Cricket League) 20-20 match against Lahore Badshahs by Bowl Out to win the ICL 20-20 cup and become the champions of ICL for the year 2008 ..
The match was a pretty low scoring match when compared to the previous matches in the series first Lahore Badshahs put on a score of 130 which was chased by Hyderabad Heros till the very last moment untill the whole Hyderabad team fell.
It was second time Bowl Out was witnessed after India vs Pakistan clash in 20-20 world cup ,
3 out of 4 bowlers from Hyderabad Heros hit the wickets whereas none of the 3 bowlers from Lahore Badshahs hit the wickets.
Seems like the Inzy Team still needs to find luck with Bowl Out situations..
