Ending weeks of speculation, Sony officially announced a new $499 retail price for their 60 GB Playstation 3 on Sunday, effective immediately. They also introduced a larger 80 GB model at the $599 price point, which will come packaged with the racing game Motorstorm and will be available to North American consumers this August.
